Memories
I hope that is all is well. :D I miss playing Queen of Hearts with you for hours on end... I also miss going to the beach with you. I hope that we'll be able to go to the beach someday... :D I love you :D kiki-+
I'm thinking about the times when our families got together and our girls would talk about family life and compare Dads. "Does your Dad do this too?" "That sounds like what my Dad would do!" "My Dad says the very same thing!" "What about when this happens...how does your Dad react?" "How funny! My Dad does the same thing."
I remember how much fun they had comparing Dads. They were so delighted to find commonalities, similar expressions, reactions, tricks and teases.
And, of course, a generation later, Penny's kids thought Jack was their Grandpa when we visited them when they were little. Jack took great delight in being compared with Grandpa Hoddy.
And now, they are together in ways that we can only wonder and pray for. Hmmm...I wonder what kind of mischief they might be up to now just to make us smile?
What a big honour for me to get to know Hoddy´s family better through reading all the stories. Yes, even though I live so far away from LA, Hoddy would send me a small gold watch for Christmas. For sure I would feel like one of these models in the fashion magazine´s wearing almost the same gold watch. I still cherish a white pullover in my trailer at the Berlin camp. I love to wear it while camping.
In 1964 HODDY was the man who inspired me to become an almost militant camper in Germany. I remember in 1964 shortly before I left LA again, Hoddy would decide to go camping with his family in Yellow Stone Park. Believe me, I would have much more liked to go camping together with STEVIE in California, then flying back to Berlin Germany and continuing my schooling at Kennedy school.
You know, I was 1O years old in 1964, can you imagine that this man set my ways of how I would live my life later on ? I love to camp, I even was at the camp over New Year together with my beloved cat PAULY.
Dear Penny, thank you Penny, for giving me the chance to also contribute my thoughts over Hoddy together with all of you. Every single story gave me strength to keep on going. Penny, life goes on, please do not forget.
Thank you Hoddy for letting you know how I feel about you. In my teenage years when I often went to church together with STEVIE I found that you and Manny were a very handsome and beautiful couple. So nice I got to meet you.
I will pray for you. P I X I E
Theres so much on my mind, math, science, and all the other hard work. We have semester finals this week, so I'm really stressing out, It feels like I've got so much on my mind... I dont think your dead. Whats wrong with me? What's going to happen when I walk into your house and your not there? Why is God doing this? I miss you a ton, there is so much I want to tell you.
Remember that ski race I said was coming up? Well I did it and I got first!!!!!!!!!!! I even beat the boys. Did you see it grandpa? I did it for you.
I remember that you used to say you would see all of us through graduation day in college. Then a year later you would say I'm going to see Weston through college and then in 2007, last year, you never said that. I thought something was fishy... but I never fully understood. I really wish I could go into the past tell you I love you,
Kiki
